Vijay Chadderwala, DO, is an osteopathic medicine physician at LocalMD, providing complete family medicine to people in the Maspeth neighborhood of Queens in New York City. 

Dr. Chadderwala began his professional career at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) in Old Westbury, earning his Bachelor of Science in life science and graduating magna cum laude. Afterward, he remained at NYIT, earning a graduate certificate in global health and his doctorate in osteopathic medicine.

Before entering private practice, Dr. Chadderwala completed a family medicine residency at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, New York, and an urgent care fellowship at CityMD in New York City.

At LocalMD, Dr. Chadderwala diagnoses and treats most acute and chronic issues. As an osteopath, he specializes in conditions that affect the musculoskeletal system. People from all over the New York metropolitan area visit him for the treatment of arthritis, sports injuries, and back pain. 

Whenever possible, Dr. Chadderwala takes a conservative and non-invasive treatment approach. Often, measures like physical therapy, massage, and activity modification ease pain and provide lasting relief. 

Dr. Chadderwala sets aside plenty of time for each visit and thoroughly answers his patient’s questions. He speaks English, Gujarati, and Hindi, so people can feel confident speaking in their native tongue.

Dr. Chadderwala proudly holds membership in several professional organizations, including the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association. When he isn’t working, he enjoys traveling and mentoring young doctors. He’s also an athlete and loves playing basketball, tennis, and football.
